IF MY LIFE WAS A PLAY

If my life was a play
I’d set the stage
with a path
cast in darkness
There’d be tangled limbs
bowing to the winds
that constantly whispered
of times change
There’d be a moon
swollen with howls
however now
perhaps with wishes
And a star studded sky
just there to remind me
of how minuscule
I truly am

If my life was a play
I’d set the stage
with flickers
of warm candlelight
There’d be no need
to rehearse my verses
for my truth
would spill from my eyes
My past would be behind me
my future not yet scripted
and my now
I’d gift solely to you
There’d be no bells and whistles
I’d not cue the violins
There’d be just me, bared
in naked vulnerability

If my life was a play
I’d set the stage
with a path
that lead me to you

Foreplay by Megan Kay

A extraordinary piece by the talented Megan Kay! ~ Enjoy Debs xox

Megan Kay's Blog

Absorbed
in the fantasies
of others words
I rest
my naked frame
nestling the bound pages
across my chaise lounging torso
Unaware
at first
that you
had filled the wing back chair
it was your heated glare
that sent a wave of chills
over my pale flesh
Believing
it was the script
that dripped
my eyes traveled faster
my breath deepening
as the words of desire
infused
my core
It was the sound of your belt
being pulled through the buckle
that startled
my wandering hand
to pause
although
my body demanded more
Then a zipper
caught my attention
my eyes darting
to find
your long body
sunken so sublimely
your hand reaches in
to release
him
The sound
of the book
tumbling to the ground
startled my glare
yet conjured your lips to curl
in that smirk
I know
oh so well
Your girth
so utterly perfect
as it…

#MDRomance: WRITE THERE by MEGAN KAY

#MDRomance Week: An elegant and touching weave of words between these two talented Poets Megan Kay & Mark Davis! ~ Debs xox

Mark Davis Author / Poet

Her fingers spilled
letters of romance
for hearts adrift
to lift in hope

Spelling out swells
of lustful tales
he wrote of passions
in crashing throes

She collected words
in scents of roses
He delivered verses
of submissive poses

She scripted lives
derived from fairytale dreams
He penned of the highs
of writhing elated screams

‘Romance is dead’
he chides her lightly
‘So is passion it seems’
she retorts so effortlessly

As she rests astride
his already awaiting knees
yet another Sunday fades
between their bound bodies

Poetic interprets of title and picture by Mark Davis

Is love shared
Feelings cared
Romance and lust
Deflated by trust

Is the future bright
Are we doing it right?
Blissfully unaware
Their partner is there

A trip to the hills
No internet ills
Phone service away

Words across the oceans
Her pen
poured
upon parchments
filling large rooms
with empty
wishes
.
Her heart
knew
that her drying ink
belonged with him
but remained
bound
.
A waking
breeze
swept her cheeks
and led her feet
to her
shore
.
A breaking
tide
caressed her cries
launching her words
across
the ocean
.
She waited
in silence
for the warm sun
to sink with her dreams
to be
heard
.
She curled
in darkness
never more alone
her only hopes
floated away
unknown
.
Until
one moment
struck her like lightening
as the moon rose
bright
beaming
.
He heard
her call
upon passions waves
He returned her love
in full glow
.
Knowing
