Poetry Challenge by Benjamin Prewitt

Words across the Oceans

On the breath of a whispered wind does
her voice echo through the night
Only to land on the tired hands of a
lover she has never met like words across the oceans
Her thoughts easing his heart from thousand miles away
he searches the night sky for glimpse of the real
To feel his soul and give hope to days end.
Caught by scent of a perfume lifting its head
sifting and drifting along the silent stream of consciousness
Like butterfly’s drawn to the sweet fragrance of clover fields
he lay still waiting for her, waiting for his lovers words
Yet they are just echoes…
Echoes in the night.
