An erotic sensual being whom in habits this earth.
Igniting you through words and pictures.
Filling your sight, mind and soul endlessly…
Touching you with a gentle flick of her words –
Leaves you with a deep penetration of feeling!

Words on Charity Awareness…

image

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. – Aesop”
*
“No act of kindness is too small. The gift of kindness may start as a small ripple that over time can turn into a tidal wave affecting the lives of many. – Kevin Heath, Ceo More4kids”

Recently through my love of reading I have come across some wonderful Humanitarians who support and promote Charity Awareness daily…which I have found very inspiring!

In my line of work as a Nurse I support and am involved in a lot of “Charity Fund Raising Events” –  I get to see both sides of the coin for a lot of Charity Organisations and Causes – such as National Heart Foundation of Australia, Starlight Children’s Foundations Australia, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Cancer Council Australia, NBCF Australia, World Vision, Guide Dogs Association, Life Line, Beyond Blue, Meals on Wheels, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Diabetes Australia, MS Society…and the list goes on!
*
I work in all areas of the Hospital mainly with the older generation covering Delirium and Dementia but I also work in Medical, Surgical, Orthopedic, Childrens, GEM, Extended Care, Palliative Care, Rehab and Mental Health Wards.

# Some Organisations that have really touched my heart & why?
A few years back I was working with a girl who had just moved up to Queensland from Sydney, and she hadn’t any friends or family to turn to for support…Long story cut short…her nearly 15 yr old son had to have a Heart Transplant and was admitted into the Hospital that I worked in, where he stayed for just over 8 months awaiting a Heart Transplant!!! My son was nearly the same age and my heart went out to him, the courage this young man showed was incredible and I was apart of his journey daily over this time and we all became very close! A year after he had received his New Heart they invited me to attended a ceremony for Donor and Receiver Families….all I can say is it will be etched in my memory forever, it was a very emotional experience!
*
In Daniel’s 8 month time in Hospital I got to see and experience how these Organisations work – Organ & Tissue Donation, Heart Foundation, Make-A-Wish & Starlight Children’s Foundation, and how they make a real difference and I can’t praise them enough, they are I just incredible!

# Organ Donation:
  • Most Australians support organ and tissue donation…
  • This wish to help others becomes a reality if Australians learn about organ and tissue donation and make the decision to become a donor. Families also need to know the wishes of the potential donor. This means discussing, understanding and accepting each family member’s decision. If families are aware of their deceased loved one’s decision about organ and tissue donation, they are more likely to give consent for donation.
  • Even if you are registered as an organ donor, your family will still be asked to confirm your wishes and give their consent. It’s important that they know your wishes.

# National Heart Foundation of Australia:
  • The Heart Foundation saves lives and improves health through funding world-class cardiovascular research, guidelines for health professionals, informing the public and assisting people with cardiovascular disease.
  • While our work over the past five decades has helped reduce the number of deaths, cardiovascular disease (heart, stroke and blood vessel disease) remains one of Australia’s most devastating health problems.

~@~

image

# Make-A-Wish Australia:

  • Grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

~@~

image# Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia:

  • Starlight provides programs integral to the total care of seriously ill children – while health professionals focus on treating the illness, Starlight is there to lift the spirits of the child, giving them the opportunity to laugh, play and be a child again
  • Two decades of children’s laughter: Since being formed as an Australian children’s charity in 1988, the Starlight Children’s Foundation has brightened the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children, and their families, throughout Australia.
  • About Starlight: Living with illness or injury can cause enormous strain in the lives of children and their families. The pain, loneliness and isolation that sick children feel dominates their lives, and they often miss out on normal experiences that healthy children take for granted.

When my son was in High School they became apart of this Community Organisation called Rosie’s Street Van, where a group of lads would go with a teacher and some parents along with the Van on certain nights into the City CBD and it was a real eye opener for us!
*
There was one particular story of a young girl the same age as my son at the time and she was sleeping on a mattress at the Beachside near his school because she had been kicked out of her home…and she got to school everyday she told them as she wanted to succeed in her life! Wonderfully they were able to help this girl find a safer home and helped her to finish her High School!!!

# Rosie’s Street Van:

  • Rosies aims to provide something intangible, we offer a range of services to our patrons, all with the aim of creating a sense of ‘home’ in different places. We aim to be present with people, offering them times of unconditional belonging.
  • Rosies’ most visible outreach is our street van. We operate street vans which offer tea, coffee, Milo and a friendly ear in all our locations: Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Caboolture, Logan/Beenleigh, Cairns, and Warwick. Most of our volunteers work with the street van, spending time with people who are homeless and often also houseless.
  • Rosies mission is to offer times of presence with others through street outreach, children’s and drug court support, youth detention visitation, and prison outreach.

I love Animals ….they give unconditional love and I think we Humans have a lot to learn from them!

RSPCA:

  • The RSPCA is a community based charity that works to prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection.
  • RSPCA Australia is a Federation of eight independent State and Territory RSPCA bodies called member Societies. RSPCA member Societies do much of the hands on work traditionally associated with the RSPCA such as the operation of shelters and the Inspectorate plus community education and fundraising.
  • RSPCA Australia is home to a strong science and campaigns team, with a particular focus on farm animal issues. RSPCA Australia is responsible for facilitating national campaigns and events and representing the interests of animal welfare with Government and industry across all areas.

A Lion, A Tiger & A Bear….Oh My!
As cubs a lion, a tiger and a bear had been owned by a drug dealer who did not properly care for them! The bear’s harness grew into his skin because the owner did not alter it as the animal grew. They had been abused and neglected early in life, but were finally rescued. The bear’s harness had to be surgically removed.
*
After they had been taken in by an animal sanctuary in Georgia, USA, the staff tried to separate them due to obvious concerns that the three large predators would fight. During that trial of separation, the animals were uncooperative and behaved poorly. Once reunited, the three calmed down and were well behaved.
*
Twelve years later, the three friends spend their days playing, cuddling and eating together. There are no plans to separate these lifelong friends!

An Interview with B.L. Ronan

# Brilliant Interview with Author/ Poet B.L.Ronan ~ Debs xo

So The Story Goes

We are fortunate to have had the pleasure of sitting down for a chat with friend and writer B.L. Ronan, author of saudade.  Join us as we discuss inspiration and her journey into self publishing…

So The Story Goes:Have you always wanted to write?

B.L. Ronan: i have always been a dreamer – creating and living stories almost constantly.  so in the essence of creating as a writer does, yes. i love words but it was not until middle and high school that i used it as a form of expression.

STSG:Have you always been drawn to poetry as a medium?

B.L.: my mind tends to be lyrical and i therefore have an immediate connection to the medium of poetry and prose. i find i get the most fulfillment out of it because i am able to essentially breathe my heart onto the page.

STSG:Where do you…

Words on Movies…

🎥 Movies….What do they mean to you? How do you define them?
Movies to me is bringing a “Story” to real life from your imagination or interpretation. I love them and find it an escapism into a visual “Story-telling World” that has been created to entertain, make you feel, and understand the story through the interpretation and/or the eye of the beholder so to speak…
*
In one of my first jobs out of School I was a Hairdresser and one of the important Communication Skills I was taught was when trying to understand what someone wants or is trying to tell you was to refer to visuals such as pictures……and this was so true….as what a person can be describing in your mind it is an Apple but in their mind its an Orange!
*
Even though I love, love, love reading books sometimes more than when it’s made into a Movie …..it is also wonderful to Escape into that Story-telling world visually!!!
~@~
Wikipedia definition:
Movies, also known as films, are a type of visual communication which use moving pictures and sound to tell stories or inform (help people to learn about new ideas). People in every part of the world watch movies as a type of entertainment, a way to have fun. Fun for some people can mean laughing, while for others it can mean crying, or feeling afraid. Most movies are made so that they can be shown on big screens at cinemas or movie theatres. After movies are shown on cinema screens for a period of time (ranging from a few weeks to several months), movies are shown on pay television or cable television, and sold or rented on DVD disks or videocassette tapes, so that people can watch the movies at home. Later movies are shown on television stations.

# Some people opinions I found on the net are:
  • “Many people often think that anything that appears on a screen is a movie. You’ve probably watched thousands of movies already in your lifetime, but you’d be surprised that finding two people who share the same definition of a “movie” is rare.”
  • “A movie is something meant to be enjoyed, without advertisements.”
  • “A movie is a continuous video that tells a story.”
  • ” A story that is animated or filmed.”
  • “Movies to me are visual and audio presentations that tells a story, or an event.”
  • “I would define a movie as a motion picture film that has drama or action or romance in it or some sort of theme.”
  • “To me a movie has to have something that is moving; when I see pictures it doesn’t seem right. It also has to have some kind of a plot; or a point to it.”
  • “I think the definition of a movie is the telling of a story with moving images. If someone was just talking and showing pictures I don’t qualify that as a movie….So for me a movie has to has moving images.”

Words on the Ocean…

image
The Ocean
So calming is the Ocean
Ever so pure and free
I get caught up in the motion
A symphony I call the “Sea”
 *
Over taken are my senses
I’m transfixed within its core
Drawn completely into
the power, taste and roar…
*
As I walk along the shore line
With sand between my toes
Magic beads are gently massaging
The wind whistling in trees as I go
*
I listen to the soothing sounds
And breathe in the fresh open air
Becoming mesmerised by dancing waves
Creating sand sculptures with such flair
*
Beautiful birds are gliding overhead
Gently adding to the sounds
With childrens laughter singing
As they skim rocks that they have found
*
I search for shells along the way
That have travelled from afar
That when placed next to your ears
Replay the sounds they’ve heard so far
*
Finally diving into the crystal waters
I feel cleansed and so set free
Thinking how at home I am here
My Solace, My Soul, My Sea….

Words on Bad Dreams…

image
Bad Dreams
Shadowed dreams of the night still haunt me
Filled of memories that brought so much pain
Times from long ago that have passed me
Yet I wake feeling exactly the same
How do you wash away from these memories
How do you cleanse your soul and find peace
How do you move on and make a new life
That just seems so far out of your reach
Deep down you know the reality
Deep down you know what you seek has gone by
Yet Bad Dreams of the night are still haunting me
I just wish I could find my goodbye…

Words on Darkness…

image

Darkness

Deep is the hole of darkness
Which I cannot seem to escape
Tears of endless sadness
Echoes throughout my awake
The pain is indescribable
The loneliness so raw
No one seems to see me
My life just means no more
Death appeals so greatly
Sadness so ever there
People think your selfish
But do they really care!

Words on Mothers Day…

image
Ode to my Mom
My mom is my light and soul
My guide and my best friend
And as the years go by …the closer we become.
*
Everything in her nature is to only care.
Her heart is so selfless and pure.
Putting us all ahead of her own needs and wants.
*
She would give her last cent to help someone.
She is a treasure of the rarest kind.
I wish I could give her all that she deserves…
*
I love her more than words can say
Forever and Always; Near or Far –
I know she will always be with me…

And Mothers Day to me is everyday for you!
